Don joined The First Tee of Brunswick County in October of 2015. He has extensive experience in the non-profit world, working mainly with the Boys & Girls Club for the past 35 years. Don is the father of two sons and has one grandson. He is a longtime Seattle Seahawks fan, and grew up traveling the world being the son of a US Air Force pilot. He is a graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in Education and a minor in Human Services. His interests include golf, travel and real estate investment.
Terry Mauney PGA–Program Director, The First Tee Recognized Coach
Terry has been with the The First Tee of Brunswick County for five years. He is a graduate of UNC Charlotte where his golf career started. He is a quarter century class “A” PGA member since 1980. Terry was a PGA Tour Member from 1977-1982 and won the 1979 PGA Tour Qualifying school in Pinehurst, NC. In 1982 he set the PGA Tour course record with a 63 at Riviera Country Club in the 1st round of the Los Angeles Open. He then went on to play in the Champions Tour from 2001-2005. Terry is a The First Tee Recognized Coach and has given over 10,000 golf lessons!
Shannon Parks–Administrative Assistant
Shannon has been with The First Tee of Brunswick County for almost 4 years now. She became involved with The First Tee when her daughter, Cameryn, was a participant here. Shannon would volunteer in the office and during special events since Cameryn was out here, leading her to the position years later. She has two children; Cameryn, 19, who is a sophomore at Queens University of Charlotte where she is a member of the Women’s Golf Team, and Conner, 13, who spends all of his free time fishing and hunting. Shannon spends her time with her children and traveling whenever she gets some free time!
